What materials is used for your walking sticks?

We use a variety of high-quality materials including seasoned hardwoods, horn, and antler for our walking stick handles. The shaft or stick as it is known can be made from a range of durable woods such as Hazel, Holly, Chestnut and indeed any wood that has strength and can be straightened.

Can I commission a custom-designed walking stick?

Our members do not make sticks to order but specialise in how to make bespoke walking sticks of all styles, tailored to your specifications and preferences. Our members are craftsmen and have made sticks for many famous people and are renowned for their skills

Do you offer workshops for beginners?

Absolutely, we offer workshops suitable for all skill levels, including beginners interested in the art of stick making. Why not give us a call or drop into one of the classes which are held all year round on a Monday and Tuesday evenings 6-9pm at Fenchouses Community Centre, Fencehouses, County Durham DH4 6DS.
